Florida updates its Building Code from the international family under F.S. 553.73(7), and the wildland-urban interface code is not on that list — wildfire construction here rides the model floor and the programs. What applies to your house states it plainly.
The state's fire rules live in a separate prevention code, no county or city has opened a wildfire construction file of its own, and what we can't tell you yet keeps those layers distinct.

What applies in Florida
Florida does not adopt a statewide WUI construction book. F.S. 553.73(7) updates the Florida Building Code from the IBC, IFGC, IEBC, IMC, IPC, IRC, NEC, and IECC. IWUIC is not on that list. The Florida Fire Prevention Code is a separate NFPA path. Confirm with the building official.
