Louisiana's council may adopt only the named international family and the electrical code as the State Uniform Construction Code, and its Title 17 compilation lands 1 August 2026. A wildfire interface book is not in the set, so what applies to your house falls to the shared national floor.

No parish has a wildfire adoption on file, and what we can't tell you yet keeps that honest.

What applies in Louisiana

Louisiana does not adopt a statewide WUI construction book. RS 40:1730.28 requires the council to adopt only IBC, IEBC, IRC, IMC, IPC, IFGC, IECC, and NEC as the State Uniform Construction Code. The 1 August 2026 LUCCC Title 17 compilation follows that list. IWUIC is not on it. Confirm with the building official.
