Construction sources: reviewedLast verified 2026-08-27
One local briefing, built from separate evidence layers: what the state has published, where an
instrument is documented to apply, what still depends on a map or project fact, and which plant
records are documented in Pennsylvania. A ZIP personalizes priority; it does not decide a parcel boundary.
What is established here
Pennsylvania’s Uniform Construction Code incorporates the 2021 IWUIC, effective 1 January 2026. Fourteen exact product-semantic paths from Classes 1–3 are normalized here; the official map, assigned class, project scope, and building-official confirmation still decide what applies.
Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code incorporates IWUIC 2021
34 Pa. Code § 403.21(a)(11) adopts and incorporates by reference the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code of 2021 as part of the Uniform Construction Code. The November 7, 2025 amendment is effective January 1, 2026, and the State's final report says the 2021 IWUIC was adopted without modification. Whether a given lot is in a wildland-urban interface, which ignition-resistant class applies, and whether a given project type is in scope still depend on the official map and the building official.
