Maine's uniform code, in effect as of 7 April 2025, assembles the 2021 international family plus named ASHRAE and ASTM standards — no wildfire interface book among them. On the wildfire side, the question falls through to the model codes and the programs above them; what applies to your house catches it.

No Maine town has a wildfire enactment in the file, and what we can't tell you yet says so in one line.

What applies in Maine

Maine does not adopt a statewide WUI construction book. MUBEC, in effect as of 7 April 2025, is the 2021 IRC, IBC, IEBC, IECC, and IMC, plus named ASHRAE and ASTM standards. IWUIC is not on that list. Confirm with the building official.
