OSFM's 8140-2064:0100 description requires nominal thickness of at least 3/4 inch and width of at least 6 inches. The redwood must have no holes or knots. It is installed over oriented strand board, plywood or gypsum, with the chosen backing at least 7/16 inch thick. The thickness and width minimums apply together; increasing one does not remove the other.
The bevel profile also has to match the listed CRA #17 pattern schedule. For example, pattern #371 is 3/4 by 6 inches, while #476 is 1-1/4 by 6 inches. These are named profile choices, not a general allowance for any bevel board above the minimum size.
