SDCL 11-10-5, as amended by 2026 SB 129, requires a local construction ordinance for buildings other than residential structures to comply with the 2024 IBC. 11-10-6 uses 2024 IBC as the design standard where no such ordinance exists, and excludes residential structures. 11-10-12 lets a municipality adopt 2024 IRC for residential structures. IWUIC is not those statutes. Confirm with the building official.
