Iowa points construction at the 2024 IBC through 661 IAC 301.3, sends houses to the residential code under 301.8, and adopts no wildfire interface book. For wildfire, that means the default national stack — and what applies to your house is that stack, exactly as stated.
Nothing local is sourced either — what we can't tell you yet covers the county-and-city layer in one line.
The prairie plant file holds 400 documented records across USDA half-zones 4b through 6a, 97 of them flagged invasive or noxious. Living here is the working end of this page.
What applies in Iowa
Iowa does not adopt a statewide WUI construction book. 661 IAC 301.3 adopts the 2024 IBC. 661 IAC 301.8 points one- and two-family dwellings to the IRC. IWUIC is not those rules. Confirm with the building official.
State distribution, native range, invasive status, hardiness, and fire evidence answer different questions. None is a planting approval. The list itself is on Grow — this page carries the aggregates.

go stale the way a copied PDF does. Free to use with the attribution line
