Illinois set a construction baseline only recently: Public Act 103-0510 makes the IBC, IEBC, and IRC the local structural-design floor from 1 January 2025. A wildfire interface book is not part of it. What applies to your house is that floor plus the national programs.

Local wildfire adoptions are unsourced across the state, and what we can't tell you yet is candid about it.

The plant ledger is substantial: 603 records documented across USDA half-zones 5a through 7a, 156 flagged invasive or noxious. Living here puts the prairie state's garden in order.

What applies in Illinois

Illinois does not adopt a statewide WUI construction book. Public Act 103-0510 amends the Capital Development Board Act to set a 1 January 2025 baseline of IBC, IEBC, and IRC for local structural design. CDB’s code summary also names the Illinois Energy Conservation Code, Accessibility Code, Plumbing Code, and Fire Prevention and Safety Rules. IWUIC is not on that list. Confirm with the building official.
