CAL FIRE listing 8110-2042:0501 describes composite boards 0.938 by 5.36 inches. The manufacturer specification publishes a different thickness. Reconcile those descriptions with the supplied Square Edge board before specification. Leave 1/8 inch between board edges. The listed construction attaches them to nominal 2-by-6-inch Douglas fir joists spaced 16 inches on center. Board dimensions and support framing therefore need to be checked together.

The OSFM entry gives a Class C flame-spread rating and names test protocol SFM 12-7A-4A. It also requires a noncombustible or ignition-resistant exterior covering on the attached wall. Retain that requirement when evaluating the deck beside a building; the board's listing alone does not settle the wall material.
