Whose job is fire in a state that burns on purpose
Three jobs, not one agency planting list. The Georgia Forestry Commission FY2019 annual report recorded 2,005 wildfires on 7,036 acres, the lowest in 62 years, and 1,622 burn assists covering about 136,005 acres, about 13 percent of all acres prescribed burned in Georgia that year. Why it matters
A landscape that needs fire is not a foundation that needs palmetto or unpruned pine. Collapsing GFC’s assist acres with the first thirty feet plants the forest against the siding.
