Titanium FR underlayment is listed in roof assemblies whose covering determines the slope, material limits and number of underlayment layers.
The September 2025 OSFM handbook's description of assembly 8180-2372:0001 identifies a nominally 2.2-millimetre membrane made of seven bonded layers. Its Class A systems all use code-compliant exterior-grade plywood at least 15/32 inch thick. Each roof covering must itself be recognized in a listing report for Class A Spread of Flame under ASTM E108. The underlayment name does not replace that covering requirement.
For clay tile, the handbook requires a slope of at least 2:12, one layer of Titanium FR and ASTM C1167-compliant tile weighing at least 6.98 pounds per square foot. The concrete-tile alternative uses the same minimum slope and single underlayment layer, but requires ASTM C1492-compliant tile weighing at least 12.2 pounds per square foot. Those weight limits belong to their respective tile materials.
The steel-panel system permits a slope of 1/2:12 or greater with one underlayment layer and minimum 26-gauge steel. The aluminum-panel alternative has that same minimum slope but requires two Titanium FR layers and panels at least 0.032 inch thick. A single layer from the steel system cannot be substituted into the described aluminum system.
In every alternative, the underlayment adheres to the deck according to its manufacturer's installation instructions, and the covering follows its own manufacturer's instructions. Check adhesion, laps and other installation details against those documents and the exact current listing. These are the handbook's specified assembly combinations, rather than a Class A claim for every roof using Titanium FR.
