R327 inspection sequence
ORSC Chapter 1 already names foundation, under-floor, mechanical rough, and frame. The official may require other inspections. Presenters at the 25 June 2026 seminar added a Type X look before cover. R109.1.5.1 is gypsum between dwelling units, not that WUI path. Confirm the card with the jurisdiction.
You are on the job with an inspection card that does not say “R327.” The covering, the vent, and the deck underside still have to be the models on the drawings. Call before you hide them.
No g3-passed exhibit matches this object. Do not reuse a house-level hub graphic as an inspection card.
Why it matters
R327 is a construction section. Inspections live in Chapter 1. If you wait for a special “wildfire inspection” that the card does not name, you will cover Type X and fail the hold the seminar named. If you treat R109.1.5.1 as that hold, you are on a party-wall sentence. Keep WUI work exposed.

The paths
1. Run Chapter 1 first. Foundation. Under-floor. Mechanical rough. Frame. R327 does not delete those.
2. Put the models on the sheet before the first look. Deschutes. Handbook products listed on the drawings and noted where they install. A brand on the cover sheet is a redline. See show the product on the drawings.
3. Elevated-deck underside has no 12-foot skip. Deschutes FAQ. R327.3.4.4. Call it while it is still open. Stairs to that deck are a different object. The same FAQ says R327 does not write stair assemblies, per BCD. Confirm. See the stairs finding.
4. Type X is an extra hold if that is the path. Seminar. Gypsum and screws in. Finish covering off. Ask whether they log it as “other inspection” under R109.1.5. Do not log it as R109.1.5.1 unless they say so.
5. Eave mesh under 12 feet is a frame or vent look. Ordinary bird-block is a miss. Twelve-foot rule. Manufactured ember- and flame-resistant vents if that is the path.
6. Examiners are in the office. Deschutes. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 117 NW Lafayette, Bend. Call 541-385-1743. That is not a substitute for the inspection card.

How to check
- Open ORSC Chapter 1. Write down R109.1.1 through R109.1.5.1.
- Open the Deschutes R327 page. Drawings. Underside. Stairs FAQ.
- If Type X is on the sheet, ask the jurisdiction when they want that look.
- Keep the work exposed until they approve it.
- Do not treat the seminar as a BCD ruling.
Limits
This page does not print Bend’s or Sisters’ inspection card. It does not schedule your special inspector. FireApproved is not the AHJ. Confirm the sequence they actually run.

Is there a statewide R327 inspection checklist?
No. ORSC R109 names required inspections and lets the official require others. Deschutes County’s public R327 page tells you to put handbook products on the drawings and to ask examiners in the office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It does not print a WUI inspection card.
When is the Type X look?
Presenters said after gypsum and screws, before the finish covering. That is event testimony. R109.1.5.1 is a different gypsum inspection, between dwelling units or due to location on property, before tape. Ask which hold the jurisdiction wants. See keep WUI work exposed.
Do stairs to an elevated deck get an R327 assembly inspection?
Deschutes County’s public FAQ says R327 provides no code requirements for stair assemblies to elevated decks or landings, and that BCD treats stairs as exempt. Event and FAQ are not a statewide ruling. Confirm. See the stairs finding.
Can I combine the vent look with frame?
Mesh and listed vents have to match the drawings at the opening. The official decides whether that is frame, a separate look, or both. Show the model on the sheet first. See show the product on the drawings.
