2018 IWUIC roof-profile eave-closure path

The unamended 2018 IWUIC requires profile spaces at roof eave ends to block flame and ember entry or use the named cap-sheet path.

A closure product addresses only the eave-end space. The roof class, deck, firestopping or cap sheet, fastening, geometry, and locally adopted text remain separate checks.
