IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home Base forced-air vent closure
The current IBHS Base standard calls for a functional louver or flap on forced-air vents such as dryer and central-vacuum exhausts.
A documented closure addresses the opening device only. Duct material, termination clearance, lint maintenance, local mechanical-code provisions, and installation remain separate checks.
